Six-year-old autistic girl missing in Penampang

KOTA KINABALU: A search has been mounted for a six-year-old autistic girl who went missing from her home in Penampang on Friday (March 1).

According to the report that came in at 5.44pm, the victim's mother realised her daughter, Avelyn Alesha Jude, was not in the house in Kampung Sugud at 4pm.

"She tried to search for the victim with fellow villagers but failed to locate her.

"A team from Penampang fire station was sent to the location to gather information and begin a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation around the village area, assisted by the police.

"The victim has yet to be found, and the SAR will be continued tomorrow," said the Department spokesman on Friday, adding that information will be updated from time to time.
