NARATHIWAT province in Thailand is the destination of choice for Malaysian civil servants looking to secretly wed a second wife, according to a marriage agent, Kosmo! reported.
Nikah (marriage) agent Azrul said he arranges for the marriage of at least one civil servant, including those in senior positions, every month there.
“Many civil servants who chose to marry a second wife in Thailand have the financial means to do so. They normally are in their 40s or 50s, with adult children.
“It’s just that they are scared to inform their first wife of their intention to take another spouse, so they choose to do so in Thailand as an alternative to legitimising their second marriage.”
The agent, with about 10 years’ experience, said many civil servants started using his services after he was referred to by a former client in 2021.
> It’s unfair to describe celebrities who make live content on TikTok as beggars, said comedian and actor Azlee Scenario, Utusan Malaysia reported.
He said the word “beggar” was commonly used to describe celebrities who have regular live videos on the social media platform and this is uncalled for.
“We make live content to interact with our fans, not to ask for gifts. If they do give gifts, then that is equivalent to our rezeki (livelihood). I have never asked or begged for gifts,” he added.
