Manhunt on for armed robbers behind gold heist in Sepang


PUTRAJAYA: The police have launched a manhunt for four armed robbers who struck a shop selling gold in KIP Mall supermarket in Kota Warisan, Sepang.

Sepang district police chief ACP Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the robbery occurred at 8.14pm on Tuesday (Feb 6).

He said the race and nationality of the four suspects could not be ascertained.

He added that they arrived in a car which was parked at the back of the building.

"Three suspects entered the supermarket and one waited in the car. They entered the shop at 8.14pm and left at 8.16pm in the waiting car.

"There were no shots fired. The stolen items included necklaces and bracelets of various sizes and weights," he said in a statement here on Wednesday (Feb 7).

He urged witnesses and those with information on the incident to contact the nearest police station or investigating officer ASP Boby Tamat at 013-555 7858. – Bernama
