Over RM8mil allocated for Rahmah sales programme in Johor this year

JOHOR BARU: More than RM8mil has been allocated by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry to conduct the Jualan Rahmah (JR) programme in Johor this year.

Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo said that the agency is targeting to conduct 602 Rahmah sales programmes this year in all 26 parliamentary locations in the state.

"We started with 26 JR in January this year, and for February, we are planning to double the figure to 52 programmes in all 26 parliamentary locations.

“This year, the focus will be on conducting mobile JR programmes; this is based on the feedback we received last year that the public prefers such programmes compared to indoor JR.

“The difference between the two is that we can organise mobile JR in deep settlements or housing areas compared to indoor JR, where we have to look for public halls,” she said.

She said this when met by reporters after the officiating ceremony of the JR programme for Chinese New Year at Flat Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, here, on Sunday (Feb 4).

Lilis, however, added that the agency will still organise an indoor JR programme that caters to the festive season in the country.

“We are planning to conduct nine indoor JRs for the coming Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Deepavali, and Christmas,” she added.
