Two brothers nabbed to help probe into murder of elderly Rantau man


SEREMBAN: Two brothers have been detained to assist in investigations into the murder of a 74-year-old man in Kg Pasir in Rantau.

Seremban police chief Asst Comm Arifai Tarawe said the brothers, aged 25 and 18 years old, were detained several hours after the alleged murder on Thursday morning (Jan 4).

"One was detained at around 5pm where the alleged crime was committed while the other was arrested after he was called in for questioning," he said, adding that police found the man's body in a house.

ACP Arifai said the unemployed man was believed to have been stabbed in the back.

"He also had injuries to both his ankles," he said.

He said police were investigating the motive of the attack and have classified the case as murder.
