Cops on the hunt for another suspect in connection with accountant's murder


KUALA LUMPUR: Cops are tracking down another suspect in connection with the murder of an accountant in Kampung Cheras Baru.

The body of the accountant was discovered without any clothing at about 6am on Dec 11 with visible injuries and bruises.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said police have identified the suspect responsible for the murder.

"We are tracking down the suspect while the remand for two others who were previously detained will end today.

"We will refer the matter to the Deputy Public Prosecutor as soon as possible," he told reporters after attending the KL police monthly assembly on Wednesday (Dec 20).

It was reported that two men had been arrested to assist investigations into the murder of the accountant.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin had said that the two men, who are friends of the victim, were detained.

On Dec 11, the body of the 28-year-old accountant was found on Jalan Kuari, Kampung Cheras Baru, naked and face down.

Police have classified the case as murder.
