Forensics officers return to apartment in murder probe

PETALING JAYA: As murder investigations into the death of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin entered its 11th day, forensics officers have once again returned to inspect the apartment.

Yesterday, plainclothes officers were seen entering Block R at Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai. A dozen or so forensics officers arrived at around 3pm.

It is learnt that the authorities were carrying out inspections at an empty unit at the top floor of the block.

They were seen leaving the premises after about two hours.

Over the past week, investigators have been seen returning to the scene on a daily basis.

On Friday, two child witnesses were brought to the block to assist in a police re-enactment.

They were believed to be the last persons who had seen Zayn Rayyan before he was found murdered near the apartment.

The autistic six-year-old boy was reported missing on Dec 5 in Damansara Damai. His body was found in a stream about 200m from his residence at Idaman Apartment the next day.

Police confirmed that a murder investigation had been opened following a post-mortem.
