Zayn Rayyan murder: Cops take samples from more apartment residents

PETALING JAYA: Police investigators have taken samples from more residents at Idaman Apartment here.

Policemen were seen entering Block R of the apartment compound at around 8pm on Tuesday (Dec 12).

They were seen carrying two boxes when leaving the area at around 10.30pm.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said police would be meeting residents on Wednesday (Dec 13) night.

"We are meeting with residents to share the latest on the situation," he said.

It was reported that dashcam footage from cars parked near where Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin's body was found is being scrutinised.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan had said that some movement had been detected in the footage.

The six-year-old autistic boy was found dead on Dec 6, about 34 hours after his reported disappearance.

His body was discovered in a river near his home at about 10pm.

Based on a post-mortem examination, police said he is believed to have been murdered.
