Vital role for younger generation to keep Malaysia corruption-free

GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) calls on the younger generation to give their support and commitment to ensure Malaysia is free from corruption.

Penang MACC director Tuan Ruslan Tuan Mat said on its part the commission is committed to implement enforcement, prevention and education measures to combat all forms of corruption and abuse of power, however, this noble task requires teamwork from all parties.

"If we want to see this country free from corruption, members of the younger generation need to play their roles. The country needs a younger generation with a high level of integrity to build this beautiful country.

"We want Malaysia to be known as a country with high integrity, therefore, I call on everyone to be a part of MACC in fighting corruption," he said in his keynote address at the International Anti-Corruption Day 2023 (HARA 2023) here on Saturday (Nov 25).

He added that the task to fight corruption can start with two actions; do not take bribes and do not give bribe.

He said the cooperation of all parties is essential to create a society free from corruption.

"Reporting bribery offers will also send a clear message and warning to those bent on using bribes to achieve their goals. The message should be clear to society that our dignity is priceless," he added. –Bernama
