Opposition strangely scared of corruption, good governance issues, says Anwar

PUTRAJAYA: The Opposition should be the ones fiercely fighting against corruption and demanding for good governance, but strangely that is not the case now, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“It is strange...the Opposition should be fighting against corruption strongly and demanding good governance,” the PKR chief and Prime Minister said during his opening speech at the party’s congress here on Saturday (Nov 25).

“But today the Opposition is scared of the issue of corruption and good governance,” he added.

He said it is not possible to fend for the people without rectifying the issue of good governance.

Several Perikatan Nasional leaders have been facing coruption charges in court.

The two-day party congress kicked off with the Wanita PKR and Angkatan Muda Keadilan congresses.

This is also the first party congress held after PKR chief Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s appointment as the tenth prime minister on Nov 24, 2022.
