Investigation paper on bullying case in Kuala Kangsar submitted to AGC


IPOH: The investigation paper involving a case of bullying at a boarding school in Kuala Kangsar has been submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC).

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the documents were submitted on Thursday (Nov 9)

“Following the investigation conducted under Section 323 of the Penal Code, the paper was first submitted to the Perak Public Prosecutor’s Office on Monday (Nov 6).

“The paper was then sent to the AGC, and we have received the next course of action for the case, which the investigation officers will conduct,” he said in a statement today (Nov 11)

“We will then refer the investigation paper again to the AGC after we have completed the report," added Comm Mohd Yusri.

On Nov 4, Kuala Kangsar OCPD Assistant Comm Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said a doctor from Kuala Kangsar Hospital filed a report about the incident at 10.05am on September 24.

Comm Omar said that the Form Four student was allegedly bullied and beaten up by a Form Five student.

On Nov 8 Deputy Education Minister Lim Hui Ying said the minister is prepared to meet the parents or guardians of the student who was allegedly bullied at a boarding school in Kuala Kangsar.

The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt. Those found guilty could face a one-year jail sentence, a maximum RM2,000 fine, or both.
