Misinformation about MYAirline can undermine revival, says airline

PETALING JAYA: Inaccuracies and misinformation in news reports about MYAirline has the potential to undermine efforts for its revival, says the beleaguered airline.

The airline said such reports could hamper their efforts especially as they are currently engaged in advanced discussions with potential investors.

"Out of the ten aircraft previously under MYAirline's management, it has been confirmed that six aircraft have been deregistered by our lessors.

"This action is consistent with standard industry practices aimed at safeguarding lessors' assets," it said in a statement on Monday (Nov 6).

It added that at present, four aircraft remain registered and continue to be managed by lessors and are assisted by MYAirline's Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation.

It also said that the aircraft had been under lessor control since Oct 13 this year.

"We are actively engaged in discussions with our lessors with the intention of retaining these aircraft once the recapitalisation process concludes.

"With regards to our licenses, MYAirline wishes to clarify that they have been suspended and not revoked.

"MYAirline maintains the perspective that the suspension of our licenses serves the interests of our organisation, given our historical track record in maintaining a strong operational environment, especially in terms of technical, safety, and operational aspects," it said.
