‘Follow the Solidarity Week SOP’

KOTA KINABALU: Palestine Solidarity Week is not mandatory for schools in Sabah, but those that do hold such an event must strictly follow the guidelines set by the Education Ministry, says a state minister.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said Sabah welcomed the programme in schools, but the standard operating procedure must be followed.

“It is good for instilling humanitarian values among students and the importance of loving and caring for others,” he told reporters after attending the Membakut district-level Maulidur Rasul celebration at Bongawan town, about 70km from here, on Saturday.

Palestine Solidarity Week officially ran from Oct 29 to Nov 3.
