Ipoh first city in Asia to use eco-friendly Thermowaste system

At what cost: A sanitary landfill is not an ideal concept because it requires a large area of land for burying trash, rendering the land unproductive.

IPOH: Ipoh is set to be the first city in Asia to treat 100% of its waste using eco-friendly technology when a thermal waste treatment plant is fully completed.

Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said the technology is a new concept aimed at providing additional value to all waste through a more efficient recycling method, in line with the circular economy concept.
