Anime music fest sees over 1,000 fans gather in Melaka


MELAKA: J-Pop culture got a boost in the state after over 1,000 people attended the Japan's Anime Song Festival, in Melaka.

The two-day event which kicked off on Oct 6, saw top Japanese artists including Aoi Garnet; Sard Underground; BAAD; Shuichi Ikemori of DEEN, and Seiki Takayama of ZYYG woo fans at the free event held at Encore Melaka.

The new three-piece "Z" also made their live debut at this Anime Song Festival.

The audience was serenaded with iconic anime theme songs from renowned shows like Slam Dunk; Detective Conan; Dragon Ball GT and Sailor Moon.

The event also highlighted local talents like Hael Husaini; rock band Sweetass and anime musical artist Rina Hime.

Music enthusiasts came together to celebrate the magic of Japanese music anime which has been a profound experience for tourism stakeholders in the state, said the organiser Sheng Tai International.

"This festival was a testament to the potential that the state holds as a hub for cultural fusion and global entertainment," said Sheng Tai founder and chairman Datuk Leong Sir Ley on Sunday (Oct 15).

She said the event materialised following the collaboration with Chiakiss Malaysia and Sheng Tai International.
