Malaysia condemns oppression of Palestine by Israel, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: All Members of Parliament are standing in solidarity against the ongoing violence in the Middle East and urge the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to act further to suppress it, says Datuk Dr Seri Wee Ka Siong.

Dr Wee, who is Ayer Hitam MP, interjected during the Parliament sitting while debating on the issue and said the country condemns the oppression of Palestine by Israel on Palestine.

"I interjected during the debate on the government's statement about Israel's attack on Palestinian land in Gaza.

"All MPs, whether from the government bloc or the Opposition, will always stand in solidarity on the matter of Palestine which is oppressed by the Zionist regime.

"I reiterated my position and that of MCA, which is to strongly condemn the heinous act of the Zionist regime that oppresses the Palestinian people.

"Malaysia needs to urge the UN, OIC & IPU to act more aggressively and effectively to defend the fate of the Palestinian people," the MCA president said in a Facebook post Monday (Oct 9).
