Police arrest 25 more individuals in Ops Dadu Khas


JOHOR BARU: Police arrested 25 more people, including six females, in Ops Dadu Khas that targeting online gambling and illegal lottery activity.

This brings the total number of people nabbed to 178 people since the operation was launched last Friday (Sept 22).

State police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the latest arrests were made on Thursday (Sept 28) following a series of inspections at 17 premises throughout Johor.

The suspects, aged between 19 years and 54 years, including two foreigners.

“Police also seized 24 mobile phones, five printers and cash amounting to RM3,371 in the operation,” he said in a statement on Friday (Sept 29).

Comm Kamarul Zaman said since the start of the operation, a total of 153 premises have been checked, and 178 people arrested.

He added that the case is being investigated under Section 4A(a) and 4B(a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.

The premises will have their licences cancelled by the local authority and their electricity cut off by Tenaga Nasional Bhd," he said.
