Customs put a damper on drug smuggling bid

NILAI: The Customs Department has foiled an attempt to smuggle out 51.36kg of methamphetamine hidden in a consignment declared as high-pressure rubber hoses, following an operation at a godown in Port Klang.

Customs assistant director- general (enforcement) Ribuan Abdullah said the department believes it has crippled the activities of an international drug smuggling syndicate.
