Senior cop tops honours list


KUANTAN: Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director Comm Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin heads the list of 58 recipients of Pahang state awards and medals in conjunction with the 67th birthday of the Sultan of Pahang.

Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah officiated the investiture ceremony at Balai Mahkota, Istana Abdulaziz, here, yesterday.

Also in attendance were Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, Tengku Mahkota of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and other state leaders.

Comm Noor Hisam, who is also a former Pahang deputy police chief, received the Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri, Bernama reported.

Sultan Abdullah also conferred the SSAP on six other recipients, namely National Heart Institute chief research and innovation officer and senior consultant anaesthesiologist Prof Datuk Suhaini Kadiman, as well as Tenaga Nasional Bhd president and chief executive officer Datuk Shamsul Ahmad. Also receiving the SSAP were Engtex Group Bhd group executive director Datuk Ng Chooi Guan, Far East (Melaka) Sdn Bhd chairman and executive director Datuk Ling Kah Chok, Low Capital Sdn Bhd director Prof Dr Kevin Low Lock Teng and Palz Group of Companies chairman SS Sathiaseelan.

The Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP), which carries the Datuk title, was conferred on 11 recipients, including former national badminton player and coach Sairul Amar Ayob and Water Supply Department director-­­general Datuk Anita Mohamed Shafie.

Finance Ministry legal division treasury solicitor Kamal Azira Hassan, Third Infantry division commander Mej-Jen Datuk Sani S. Omar and Accountant General’s Department deputy accountant-­general (operations) Ayub Zaidin also received the DSAP.

Meanwhile, Pahang Royal Polo Club field supervisor Tengku Suleiman Tengku Abdul Rahman was among 32 recipients of the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), which carries the title Datuk, alongside Tengku Akashah Tengku Hussain and Pahang Women’s Development Council (Rompin district) chairwoman Datin Samsiah Arshad.

Also receiving the DIMP were Pahang Malaysian Anti-Corrup­tion Commission director Mohd Shukor Mahmud, Pahang Malay­sian Maritime Enforcement Agency director First Admiral (Maritime) Mazlan Mat Rejab and General Operations Force southeast brigade commander Senior Asst Comm Ahmad Radzi Hussain.

Other DIMP recipients included senior private secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister II Mohammad Faizal Abdul Rahim, senior private secretary to the Human Resources Minister Firdaus Farid Abd Rashid, Pahang Mentri Besar political secretary Mohd Farid Mohd Nor and Sultan Ahmad 1 state mosque in Kuantan Chief Imam Mohd Rizzal Mohd Ali Nafiah.

In addition, former national footballer See Kim Seng, sports commentator Abu Bakar Atan and singer Wan Aminuddin Wan Ismail, better known as Ameng Spring, also received the DIMP.

At the ceremony, His Royal Highness also conferred the Setia Mahkota Pahang on five recipients, including Rompin OCPD Supt Sharif Shai Sharif Mondoi while the Ahli Ahmad Shah Pahang was awarded to one recipient and the Ahli Mahkota Pahang on two others.
