Bomba responds to Sabak Bernam religious department fire


SABAK BERNAM: Fire and Rescue Department personnel were called to respond after the Sabak Bernam religious department office here caught fire.

Selangor Bomba assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they received a distress call about the incident at 7.59pm on Friday (Sept 8).

"We dispatched two fire engines, a water tanker and an emergency medical rescue services unit and personnel to the scene from the Sabak Bernam and Sungai Besar fire stations," he said when contacted on Friday.

He said they arrived at the scene along Jalan Parit 1 Timur, Sungai Panjang and found that a fire occurred at the Islamic Education Unit office there.

"The fire destroyed at least 20% of the reception room.

"The fire was brought under control by 8.12pm and no injuries were reported," he said.

He added that the cause of the fire was under investigation.
