KUALA LUMPUR: Three families took the drastic step of disowning their children after being constantly harassed and threatened by loan sharks.

A 50-year-old businesswoman from Ayer Tawar, Perak, who only wanted to be known as Kong, said her 23-year-old son took loans amounting to hundreds of thousands of ringgit and lost it all while gambling online.
