State polls: Barisan’s Jeram Padang candidate apologises to constituents after accident

KUALA PILAH: Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Mohd Zaidy Abdul Kadir has apologised for being unable to meet with constituents in Palong 1 following concerns about his health.

“Thank you to the staff from Hospital Jempol for their efficiency in handling the emergency. Thank you also to all who have continued to pray for me,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (July 31).

Mohd Zaidy also appealed to the machinery to continue working to ensure Barisan’s victory.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Mohd Zaidy was involved in a traffic accident.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said in a Facebook post the accident happened at around 3.25am along the Jalan Pasir Besar-Palong stretch.

It is learnt that Mohd Zaidy’s driver is in critical condition.

Sources familiar with the matter said Mohd Zaidy was currently in stable condition with some swelling on his right knee.

Mohd Zaidy will be taking on Perikatan Nasional’s Suresh Sreenivasan in a straight fight in the Aug 12 Negri Sembilan state election.
