State polls: EC to meet on July 5


PUTRAJAYA: The Election Commission (EC) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (July 5) to determine, among others, the nomination and polling dates for the six state elections.

EC secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said it had received official notices of dissolution of the state assemblies involved.

"A meeting will be held to determine the important dates for the state elections.

"EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh will chair the meeting," he said in a statement on Monday (July 3).

Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu will hold their state elections soon.
