PETALING JAYA: Muda is in the final stages of discussion in relation to contesting in the upcoming state polls, says Amir Abd Hadi.
“We will announce our position soon,” the party’s secretary-general said when contacted.
The party, led by Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, applied to join the coalition in September last year.
On June 19, Muda information chief Luqman Long denied that discussions had taken place with Pakatan on seat allocations.
This came as Selangor Pakatan chief and Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said Barisan Nasional and Pakatan had finalised talks on seat allocations.
He also said the Pakatan presidential council would decide on Muda’s involvement. But sources say it the party might sit out the polls without Pakatan’s nod.
Separately, another Pakatan-friendly party, Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM), confirmed that it would not be contesting.
Its president Datuk Larry Sng said PBM would continue to support parties under the unity government.
