‘FF1’ number plate belongs to Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim

JOHOR BARU: The special “FF1” vehicle number plate belongs to Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.

The information was revealed on His Majesty’s official Facebook page yesterday.

His Majesty had earlier granted an audience to Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

At the meeting here, Loke symbolically handed over the number plate to Sultan Ibrahim, who agreed to obtain it for RM1.2mil.His Majesty also owns the number plates “F1”, which he won for RM836,660 in 2016, “W1N” for RM748,000 in 2014 and “WWW1” for RM520,000 in 2012.

The special “FF” number plate series was launched to mark the 77th anniversary of the Road Transport Department.

“For the record, a payment of RM1.2mil is the highest amount that has ever been collected by the government for the registration of a single vehicle plate number,” Loke announced on his Facebook page.

With this, he said the total revenue collected for the FF serial number stood at RM35.4mil.

The “FF8” number plate had the second highest bid at RM950,000, followed by “FF9” (RM911,999), “FF3” (RM639,000) and “FF2” (RM638,000).

Loke said the series attracted 34,032 bidders.
