Man who killed lover fails in bid to end his life

PETALING JAYA: A foreigner failed in his bid to end his life after brutally murdering his lover when he lay on the “wrong track” of the Express Rail Link (ERL) near Salak Selatan, said the police.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the man could only watch the train pass by in the next track before he was caught by auxiliary police.

The police, he said, were alerted about the incident at around 4.50pm on June 3 after the man was nabbed near the Bandar Tasik Selatan ERL station.

The auxiliary police then handed over the 30-year-old suspect to the Cheras police, he added.

“It was during interrogation that the man confessed to killing his 40-year-old lover at a condominium in Kelana Jaya,” he told reporters yesterday.

He did not reveal the duo’s nationality.

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin said the suspect then led Cheras and Petaling Jaya police to the condominium unit where police found six men and a woman living there.

“The suspect then took police to a room where his girlfriend, also a foreigner, stayed. She was found lying motionless covered in blood, with a knife near the scene,” he said.

He said the suspect was believed to have stabbed the woman at least 18 times and slit her throat between 4pm and 6pm on June 2.

The motive is believed to be jealousy.
