Woman trapped in car in Klang flash flood

KLANG: A woman found herself trapped in her car when a flash flood hit Jalan Meru in Taman Perindustrian Meru early Sunday (June 4).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said they received the emergency call at 5.44am on Sunday and a team from the Sungai Pinang fire station was dispatched to the scene.

Mohamadul Ehsan said the water level in the area rose up to 1.3m.

"The 57-year-old woman managed to exit her car with the help of others before firemen reached the area," he said.

The victim did not sustain any injuries and the water has since receded, he added.
