ACTOR Farid Kamil has vowed to take action against those who slandered him over his latest role as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the movie Anwar: The Untold Story.

“I’m warning those who made defamatory statements to publicly apologise to me and show remorse,” the 42-year-old posted on his Instagram account, according to Harian Metro.

Farid also alleged that certain irresponsible people had distorted his words.

“I never made such a statement,” he said in the post, attached with an image of the false remarks.

Anwar: The Untold Story hit the cinemas nationwide on May 18. It follows the PKR leader’s crusade against corruption during his time as the finance minister in 1991 until his dismissal from the Cabinet in 1998.

> Azira Shafinaz got to realise her childhood dream of being a weapon-toting police officer in the movie Syerif, Harian Metro also reported.

“I acted as ASP Shazlin or Sha, a sister to Inspector Nazri played by Syafiq Kyle,” said the 31-year-old actress and singer.

“This is my first time acting as a police officer, and I’ve always wanted to star in an action film,” she said, adding that it was also her childhood ambition to become a police officer.

“So I was really excited and proud when I got to wear the police uniform and carry a weapon.”

Azira said to prepare for the role, she had spent considerable time watching cop shows.

“In fact, my scenes did not involve as much action as the male actors’. But my body was aching nonetheless after the action scenes,” she added.

She recalled a time when she had to cry on the set at 4.30am.

“The tears just weren’t coming out. After a few attempts, I gave up and asked to film that scene the next day.

“I apologised to the production team because I was probably too tired to do it,” she said.
