Let’s end political rivalry among Youth leaders in unity govt, says Adam Adli

KUALA LUMPUR: It is time to end decades of political rivalry among Youth wing leaders in parties under the unity government, says Adam Adli Abdul Halim.

The Deputy Youth and Sports Minister and PKR Youth chief said differences among the parties must be managed and the respective leaders have a duty to work together instead of strengthening their own positions.

“This is no ordinary gathering," he said of the unity government national convention.

"This is not only for us to justify the set-up of the unity government.

"It is a joint effort for us to build the nation together and put an end to decades of political rivalry today, God willing," he said during a discussion at the Pemuda Puteri convention on Sunday (May 14).

He said there were unforeseen political changes post-GE15 as different parties united under a common vision for the benefit of the country.

“When we are sitting together today, what is most required is tolerance. And it cannot be fake but with a sincere heart.

“Many who came today are from the grassroots and it is their first time meeting each other,” said Adam Adli, noting that the situation was unlike those in leadership positions who had more options to engage with one another.

He hoped the convention would serve as a new beginning and restore faith among youth towards politics.

The discussion also featured Puteri Umno wing chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi, Amanah Youth chief Mohd Hasbie Muda and PBRS Youth chief Edwin Laimin.

Also present was Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
