MyStarjob Fair attracting visitors with all levels of experience

KUALA LUMPUR: Job-seekers with all levels of experience – from fresh graduates to seasoned workers – have come in droves to the two-day MyStarjob Fair held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre here.

Thirty-year-old advertising agent Anas Ilyas said she was seeking a new job after moving from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur.

"I have applied for positions in companies like the Star Media Group, Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd and Ipsos, which offer job positions in my field," said Anas on Saturday (May 13).

Similarly, a 29-year-old semiconductor engineer who wished to be known as Lim, said he wanted to make a career change and find a new job in Kuala Lumpur.

"I am currently working in Melaka but I am looking to apply for jobs at ExxonMobil as well as Air Selangor," he said, having come to the fair with his wife who lives in Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old fresh graduate Amin Iskandar said he wanted to apply for jobs with companies that provide placement opportunities abroad, especially in the United Kingdom and Japan.

"Some of the companies I am interested in are Airbus Customer Services and Japan Foods Holding as they have job placement programmes overseas. I have applied for job positions including a public relations officer, content writer and marketing executive," he said.

Ardeelah was joined by her Thai friends Apichaya Jaikang, 23, and Punyisa Santeng, 24, who were looking for marketing and customer service positions.

"This is a very good opportunity for us to find jobs. We have not experienced this before in Thailand," they said.
