Marine cops foil bid to smuggle out subsidised petrol, sugar in Sandakan

KOTA KINABALU: The marine police thwarted an attempt by a man who wanted to smuggle out essential items in Sabah’s east coast Sandakan district.

In the incident at about 2am on Wednesday (May 10), while patrolling under the operation dubbed “Op Taring Gelora”, the police spotted the suspect loading items into a boat at the Sandakan general market jetty.
