State polls: Umno candidates to use BN logo, says Zahid


KUALA NERUS: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has confirmed that all its candidates will use the “dacing” symbol for the elections in six states.

The Deputy Prime Minister said other parties in the unity government will be using their respective symbols for their candidates.

"Nonetheless, we will be mobilised as one machinery among parties in the unity government,” he told reporters after attending the Majlis Santunan Kasih Ramadan organised by the Rural and Regional Development Ministry) at Masjid Al-Ansar, in Sri Pantai Camp, here today (March 28).

Asked on the allocation of seats, Ahmad Zahid, who is also Barisan Nasional chairman, said Umno and other parties in the unity government have yet to formally discuss the matter.

In this regard, Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, announced that Terengganu Umno chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Said has been reappointed as Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketegah) chairman.

He said it is hoped the reappointment of Ahmad effective immediately would drive development in three districts under Ketengah, namely Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman. - Bernama
