Parents irked as school left empty for eight years

EIGHT years after its completion, SJK (T) Ladang Sagga’s “new” building in Siliau, Negri Sembilan, remains empty and parents there are demanding to know why, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Parents who recently gathered in front of the school building said that the school was completed in 2015.

Parents Sivan Subramaniam and Kavitha Krishnan said that a whole generation of kids had enrolled for admission into the school but completed six years of their primary education without stepping foot in the new building.

Parent Teacher Association chairman Kanagamoorthi Subramaniam said he was baffled by the education authorities’ silence.

The embarrassing affair has been a bane to the school, with pupil numbers dropping from more than a hundred to 46 now.

Only six pupils enrolled in Standard One this year, the parents said, urging the Education Ministry to act swiftly resolve the matter.
