KOTA KINABALU: Ramadan bazaar traders in Sabah have been reminded not to arbitrarily increase food prices with the fasting month around the corner, says Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Shahelmey Yahya.

He said traders were also reminded to ensure that food sold was hygienic and safe to consume.

“With the holding of Ramadan bazaars, the public is also reminded to be smart consumers and to take precautions while visiting them,” he said at the launching ceremony of the RTM Ramadan Tour at the Communications and Digital Ministry Complex here, Bernama reported.

The event was also attended by RTM’s director of radio programmes Nor’ain Bakir. RTM Sabah is the first location for the RTM Ramadan Tour programme.

During the fasting month, RTM will visit 77 selected mosques nationwide, with the last visit scheduled in Perlis on April 15.

“This RTM Ramadan Tour is also very significant and should be continued not only in Sabah but throughout the country in line with the direction of the Sabah Maju Jaya development plan and Malaysia Madani,” said Shahelmey.
