Klang cops nab three snatch theft suspects

KLANG: Three suspects linked to a snatch theft in Pekan Kapar here have been arrested after a number of police raids.

North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao said in a statement on Friday (March 3) that the arrests were made on Wednesday and Thursday (March 1 and 2).

Two suspects were arrested in Jalan Dato Dagang on Wednesday following raids conducted under Ops Cantas and Ops Kesan.

"Questioning of the two led to the discovery of a third accomplice and he was arrested at around 12.05am on Thursday in Jalan Dato Yusof Shahbudin.

"A machete and car used during the robbery were also found.

"Further checks showed that the car had a false registration number and was reported missing," he said.

The suspects, aged 36 to 46, all had criminal records, he added.

"The first suspect has 15 priors including one drug-related offence. The second had three past offences and the third, 15," he said, adding that all three had been remanded for six days.

Police believe the suspects were involved in other snatch thefts in the area, as well as a break-in at a scrap metal shop.
