During the proceedings, the seat usually occupied by the late lead prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram was left vacant.
The former Federal Court judge, who led the prosecution in Najib's 1MDB-linked cases, passed away on Jan 29 after battling a lung infection.
It was learned that the seat was left empty as a mark of respect for Sri Ram.
