MetMalaysia: Danger-level continuous heavy rain warning for Johor, Sabah


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a dangerous-level continuous heavy rain warning for Johor and Sabah until Thursday (Jan 26).

It said that the areas involved in Johor include Mersing and Kota Tinggi, while in Sabah, it involves Sandakan (Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat.

A severe-level continuous heavy rain warning has also been issued for Pahang, covering Pekan and Rompin; Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Kulai and Johor Bahru) and Sabah's west coast (Ranau and Kota Belud) and Sandakan (Telupid) until Thursday, it said in a statement Wednesday (Jan 25).

In addition, an alert-level warning of continuous rain is expected to occur until Thursday in Pahang, involving the areas of Maran, Kuantan and Bera; Negri Sembilan (Jempol and Tampin); Melaka; Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pontian) and Sabah in the west coast area (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran) and Sandakan (Kinabatangan).

Similar weather conditions are also expected to occur in Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang and Pasir Puteh in Kelantan and Terengganu from Jan 27 to 30. - Bernama
