PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hosted a Cabinet ministers' "working retreat" at Sri Perdana to discuss the government's way forward, say sources.
The Prime Minister's Office distributed photographs of the arrival of the ministers at Sri Perdana on Sunday (Jan 15) before they gathered for a group photograph at the official residence of the Prime Minister.
However, the Prime Minister's Office did not elaborate on the retreat or provide any further information with regards to the photographs titled "Retreat of the Cabinet".
"The retreat was planned to be from 9am to 5pm, a one-day retreat. The 'retreat' is only in name but it was a heavy session on key national issues. Our Prime Minister is simply working non-stop," said the source.
Both deputy prime ministers Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusoff and all Cabinet ministers were in attendance as the source said that it was compulsory for everyone to be present.
It is not known what were the main issues discussed at the retreat.
On Jan 8, Anwar said during his trip to Jakarta that a special retreat will be held for Cabinet ministers in a week's time to get their input on their performance for their first 100 days in office.
The Prime Minister then said that the retreat would be held for them to showcase their key performance indicators (KPI) for each ministry and as a minister.
