KUALA LUMPUR: Bouquets of flowers have been placed outside SJK(C) Mun Choong here as a tribute to the teachers killed in the Batang Kali landslide.

The chrysanthemums were left at the signage at the school entrance.

One of them had a handwritten note that read “Deepest condolences to all departed souls”, according to Sin Chew Daily.

The flowers in various hues added a sense of sorrow to the still atmosphere outside the school, which is closed for the year-end holiday.

A group comprising seven teachers, three pupils and a canteen operator was on a three-day, two-night camping trip to Father’s Organic Farm when the disaster took place early on Friday.

Joining them on the trip, which started on Dec 14, were their 12 relatives and friends.

As of yesterday, one teacher had been found safe while her three colleagues were confirmed dead.

The school staff, alumni and parents said they were praying for the safety of those missing in the deadly landslide.
