Unity govt will bring political stability, says Hajiji

KOTA KINABALU: The unity government formed at the federal level would be a strong entity and one that is inspired by the diverse group of people nationwide, says Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

In a statement issued following the signing of the unity government agreement held in Putrajaya on Friday (Dec 16), Hajiji voiced confidence that the Malaysian unity government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will bring political stability in this country and in Sabah, particularly.

“This is something special in the move to unite the people of Malaysia.

“We in Sabah really need such an atmosphere as it will bring great hope to the state especially in terms of economic and development aspects, as Sabah is quite a huge state.

“This is our end goal. I believe that it will be a strong government that the multiracial folk across the country had waited for,” said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman.

Signing on behalf of GRS was its secretary-general Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun who is state Local Government and Housing Minister, with Hajiji as witness.

The other four signatories are the coalitions under the unity government, namely Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Parti Warisan.
