GE15: Abang Jo declines to comment on BN’s decision not to back any coalition

KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has declined to elaborate when asked about Barisan Nasional's decision not to support any coalition to form a government.

He said the action that GPS will take will depend on the decision made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

"I don't know the King's decision yet. I don't know (Barisan’s decision). I am (still) in the state assembly," he told reporters when met at the state legislative assembly building here.

On Sunday, GPS announced that the party was ready to work with Perikatan Nasional, Barisan and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to form the Federal Government and support Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for the post of prime minister.

However, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today said that the Barisan supreme council decided not to support any coalition to form the government.

The Umno vice-president in a post on Facebook, announced so far, Barisan agreed to be in the opposition. - Bernama
