Teen believed to have drowned while swimming at Johor National Park


MUAR: A 20-year-old male is believed to have drowned while swimming at a waterfall at the Johor National Park in Tangkak on Sunday (July 12), near here.

Tangkak Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Hairul Anuar Ali said the incident took place at Kolam Air Putih, in Gunung Ledang

“We received an emergency call in regard to the case at 11.19am, dispatched eight firemen to the scene located 15km away from the station,’’ he said in a statement.

Mohd Hairul said the operation team managed to discover the body of the victim, identified as A. Sutheshwaran, at the scene.

He was declared dead at the scene by the Health Ministry paramedic team.

He said the body has been forwarded to the police for further action.

The operation led by operation commander I Muhamad Fazlan Maraman ended at 12.24pm.
