KUALA LUMPUR: The Grab 5-Star Eats Awards 2025 returns as an annual celebration recognising the restaurants and food businesses Malaysians consistently trust and choose.
Driven entirely by the voice of the people, the awards are powered by millions of authentic ratings and reviews from everyday foodies on the Grab platform, highlighting how everyday dining experiences and user feedback come together to identify Malaysia’s most-loved eateries nationwide.
This year’s awards take on a greater significance with Visit Malaysia 2026 in full swing. Alongside the 5-Star Eats Food Guide, Grab hopes to make it easier than ever for both international travellers and everyday users to discover and support local favourites across the country.
Initiatives and collaborations like these help local small businesses reach a wider audience, gain the recognition they deserve and elevate them as true culinary ambassadors for Malaysia.

“Helping our merchant-partners grow is at the heart of what we do. Grab aims to be the primary platform for food businesses nationwide, offering holistic, tech-driven growth across delivery, dine-in and digital discoverability,” said Grab Malaysia commercial and deliveries director Tan Jiong Jian.
“By providing data-driven insights and digital tools, we enable local favourites to build customer trust and reach new audiences.
“The Grab 5-Star Eats Awards 2025 is a clear reflection of that commitment, where our merchants' success is directly powered by real customer voices and everyday dining experiences.”
This year’s awards reflects a massive surge in consumer engagement and merchant growth across Malaysia. Driven entirely by the voice of the people, Grab expanded its award categories by 54%, allowing the platform to celebrate a 91% increase in winning local brands, nearly doubling the number of recognised merchants year-on-year. This momentum was propelled by Malaysia’s passionate food community; total voter participation jumped by 45%, while the number of foodies voting for finalists saw a 59% increase.

Celebrating exceptional dining
This year also marks the introduction of the Grab Dine Out category, expanding recognition beyond delivery to celebrate outstanding dine-in experiences across Malaysia’s restaurant scene.
The expanded awards programme reflects evolving consumer behaviour and the different ways Malaysians now discover, enjoy and support their favourite food businesses, whether through delivery or dining out.
Featuring 17 diverse categories, including Crowd’s Favourite Best Malaysian Food, Budget-Friendly Favourites and Best of the Best this year's awards honoured homegrown brands and local favorites, such as Lieniey Nasi Kerabu Tumis, S.A Bamboo Curry House and Grill Fish, for their exceptional culinary contributions.
Also introduced this year to celebrate and acknowledge merchants who have captured the attention of consumers, the Top Searched Restaurants for 2025 went to Nasi Ayam Gepuk Top Global and Oriental Kopi.
The broad culinary scope of this year’s winners reflects the diversity of Malaysia’s food landscape, spanning beloved local favourites, international cuisines and emerging dining concepts.
The inclusion of the Grab Dine Out categories further recognises merchants that consistently deliver exceptional in-person dining experiences, highlighting excellence both online and offline.
