King hands out meals to reporters awaiting arrival of political leaders

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah handed out meals to the media who are awaiting the arrival of political leaders at Gate 2 of Istana Negara.

The King greeted reporters and asked them to stay calm and patient for further official statements from the palace.

As of 1.50pm Monday (Nov 21), no vehicles bearing political party or coalition leaders had been spotted entering Istana Negara through Gate 2.

Istana Negara has released a statement that the King had extended the deadline for parties and coalitions to form a government and present a candidate for prime minister by 2pm Tuesday (Nov 22).

This follows after Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi requested extension of time from Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun to convey its decision on the formation of government.
