GE15: Perikatan’s Hadi, Takiyuddin win big in the east coast


KUALA TERENGGANU: In the peninsula's east coast, Perikatan Nasional big guns retained their seats with landslide wins in the 15th General Election.

PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang retained his Marang parliamentary seat in Terengganu, garnering 73,115 votes for a 41,729 majority.

In Kota Baru, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, who is also the incumbent, won the seat with a majority of 22,613 votes. He received a total of 41,869 votes in a six-cornered fight.

Caretaker Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ikmal Hisham also retained his Tanah Merah seat with a 44,485-vote majority, polling 54,266 votes in a five-way battle.
