GE15: Cabinet ministers will have to declare assets if I become PM, says Anwar

HULU SELANGOR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has promised to kick out any member of his future Cabinet if they do not declare their assets.

The PKR chairman added that knowing candidates' financial background and assets was essential information before deciding whether to vote for them in the 15th General Election.

"All Pakatan Harapan candidates had to declare their assets but some, mainly from Barisan Nasional, we don’t know what their financial standing is.

"If I become prime minister and if my ministers accumulate assets without declaring them, I would kick them out. That is a promise," he said in a ceramah at Serendah Traders square in Seri Serendah.

Anwar added that the Pakatan parliamentary candidate for Hulu Selangor from PKR, Dr Sathia Prakash Nadarajan, had to declare all his assets including the 14 clinics he owns before standing as a candidate.

"If the rakyat vote for Dr Sathia, they are voting for me to be prime minister."

Anwar, who is the Pakatan candidate for the Tambun parliamentary constituency, said he had a good reputation with leaders from countries like China, the Philippines, India and Indonesia, and this would enable him to help the country's economy so people would benefit.
