GEORGE TOWN: Bukit Bendera Barisan Nasional candidate Richie Huan Xin Yun had to postpone his campaign for an hour to help a woman who crashed her motorcycle while trying to cross a junction.

The victim, in her 20s, had crashed after hitting a car at about 9.30am on Sunday (Nov 13).

Huan said he had just finished meeting the voters at the Fettes Park Market off Jalan Mount Erskine when he heard a loud bang and saw a woman lying on the road with injuries all over her face.

"I was surprised by the incident and continued to help until I forgot about my walkabout at Jalan Padang Tembak scheduled for 10am and was late to meet the voters.

"I then called the emergency number to take care of the victim so that she could get treatment at the Penang Hospital.

"The woman was given treatment at the scene by paramedics before she was sent to the hospital," said the Barisan candidate from Parti Cinta Malaysia when met in Padang Tembak here.

Huan said it was human nature to help when one sees another individual injured, adding that passers-by also helped.
