GE15: Perak PKR MB candidate plans to uplift living standards in Kuala Sepetang

IPOH: PKR’s mentri besar candidate Datuk Zainal Azman Abu Seman said his focus now was for Pakatan Harapan to win in the General Election.

The Former Public Service Department deputy director-general said whatever decision was made by the party’s leadership, it would all depend on the results.

Zainal Azman had served as the state secretary in Perak during Pakatan’s tenure, and he was now a candidate for the Kuala Sepetang seat.

"There are many other candidates that can be considered, but all that I leave to the party’s leadership.

"With my experience in the civil service, I am able to contribute to the state, be it as an assemblyman, or for other positions offered," he told a press conference organised via zoom at the state PKR office here on Friday (Nov 11).

On Nov 3, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said Zainal Azman was the most qualified candidate should Pakatan win in Perak.

Kuala Sepetang is presently held by Barisan Nasional, which won the seat in the 2018 election with a narrow majority of 329 votes.

Prior to that, the constituency had been held by PKR after the 2008 and 2013 general elections.

Zainal Azman said he had been wasting no time to go to the ground with his campaign.

"Voters in this fishing town have raised issues of flooding in the area, the need for better infrastructure, and to have more business operating sites, as well as licensing issues.

"The voters here feel that there is less focus given to this area.

"The issues raised by them are not something impossible to do, and if Pakatan is given the chance, all this can be done," he said.

Zainal Azman said his hope was to see that the people here were able to generate more income, since it was a tourism hotspot as well.

"I want to uplift their living standards here," he said.
