Zuki, Deputy IGP among those conferred Perak honours

IPOH: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali heads the list of 212 recipients of honours and awards given out in conjunction with Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah’s 66th birthday today.

He will be bestowed the Darjah Dato Seri Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (SPCM), which carries the title Datuk Seri.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain will receive the Darjah Dato Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS), which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.

Receiving the Darjah Dato Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM), which carries the title Datuk, is Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Isham Ishak.

Fifteen other personalities will receive the Darjah Dato Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP), which carries the title Datuk.

The recipients include Shah Alam High Court judge SM Komathy Suppiah, Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Datuk Zakri Jaafar, Energy and Natural Resources Ministry secretary-general Datuk Rosli Isa, Treasury deputy secretary-general Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin @ Zainuddin, and National Archives director-general Jaafar Sidek Abdul Rahman.

Others include Perak State Development Office director Shamshuzaman Sulaiman, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital Infectious Diseases medical consultant Dr Ker Hong Bee, Public Works Department’s Integrated Asset Management branch senior director Zulkipli Nasri, Perak Syariah High Court chief judge Ab Rahman Thobroni Mohd Mansor, and Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Mubarak Ali Gulam Rasul.

The other recipients of DPMP are Kumpulan Media Karangkraf Sdn Bhd board of directors chairman Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub, National Heart Institute Cardiothoracic Surgery department chief and senior consultant Dr Alwi Mohamed Yunus, Sunway Education Group chief executive officer Prof Dr Lee Fuh Yen, Selangor and Federal Territory Eurasian Association president Sheila Eleanor De Costa, and a posthumous award to the late Datin Paduka Prof Dr Mehrun Siraj, a former law professor in Universiti Malaya.

Five people will receive the Darjah Dato Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS), which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan.

They are the Armed Forces inspector-general First Admiral Abd Halim Shaari, its defence adviser Brig-Jen Safwan @ Asri Ismail, the forces’ West Fleet Engineers commander Mejar-Jen Abdul Hamid Mohd Isa, and the Royal Military College health director Brig-Jen Dr Mohd Ghazalli Mohd Taha.

The other recipient is the Police Force’s Perak Special Branch Senior Assistant Commissioner Shazeli Kahar.

Melaka Health Department deputy director Dr Ruzita Mustafa is among the seven to be bestowed the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM) title, and Perak Water Board engineer Amarudin Ahmad Barkat will be among the 23 recipients to receive the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP).

There will be 16 people receiving the Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM), 45 recipients for the Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP), 47 recipients for the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), 41 recipients of the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (41) and 10 recipients of the Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP).

In announcing the list, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Jen (Rtd) Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said the date of the investiture ceremony would be determined at a later date.

“Due to the current situation, and the monsoon weather, Tuanku has instructed for the ceremony, which is usually held a day or two after the birthday celebrations, to be deferred to another time.

“The honours and awards this year are limited, and given to those who are truly eligible and meet the criteria,” he told a press conference at Laman Seri Ridzuan yesterday.
