Kim Teck Cheong appoints Mohd Zuki as chairman


KUALA LUMPUR: Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Bhd has appointed Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali as its independent non-executive chairman, succeeding Tun Richard Malanjum, who has resigned from the position.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the consumer goods distributor said Mohd Zuki, 64, holds a degree in economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, a diploma in public management from the National Institute of Public Administration and a master of business administration from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Mohd Zuki began his career in the Administrative and Diplomatic Service in 1992 and has held various positions across ministries and government agencies.

He previously served as director-general of the Legal Affairs Division in the Prime Minister’s Department, Sarawak’s secretary for federal affairs, senior deputy secretary-general at the Prime Minister’s Department and secretary-general of the Ministry of Defence.

He was also the 15th Chief Secretary to the Government from 2020 to 2024 prior to his retirement from public service.

Meanwhile, Tun Richard Malanjum, 74, stepped down as chairman due to overseas commitments.
